Coaching with Archetypes

I have developed a system of archetype cards for use in coaching, beautifully illustrated by Miranda Donkers. At the time the cards were being developed I was faced with a mountain of challenges, and after the initial success and accreditations the project was left on the back burner.

Lately though, now that life has found a new balance, I find I am using them increasingly for one-on-one coaching, helping others to find a balance of their own, both in their personal and professional lives. So I thought I'd tell you a bit more about them.

The system is based on a familiar circular four colour model, from which my own archetype model emerged. It's a model that balances Power and Love, Inside and Outside, Wisdom and Discovery. It explores the Shadow and elements of our individual and collective Unconscious: the four main colours become eight, and move towards the centre of the model. The closer to the centre you come, the closer you come to the meeting the Shadow.

Each segment represents an archetype. In all there are 48 cards.

Each coaching session begins with the coachee blind selecting five cards which are arranged in a celtic cross. Each of the cards represents an aspect of the coachee's life: past and present, hopes and fears.

The cards are an invitation to hold a conversation, to allow a story to emerge. And so it does.

If you are interested in a (online) coaching session just drop me a line using the contact form. The coaching sessions always start with an intake, which is always free of charge.
